Are you tired of your computer taking forever to load when you turn it on? One way to decrease the amount of time it takes for you to get up and running is to select only the programs you need to run at start up. This can be done with the Windows System Configuration utility.
Things You'll Need:
- A Windows based computer
- A general understanding of the programs on your system
- Step 1Go to Start-Run and type in "msconfig" (without the quotes). If you have Windows Vista, just type "msconfig" into the Start Search bar.
- Step 2Click the Startup tab at the top. Here you will see a list of all the applications on your computer. The ones that are checked are set to run at Startup. Check the services you want to run at Startup, and uncheck those that you do not. If you have less services set to run at Startup, your computer will boot faster.
- Step 3Once you have finished click Apply and restart your computer.
